Talin Darkjian

Meet Talin Darkjian, Principal of Alliance Leichtman Levine Family Foundation Environmental Science High School, which was recently named a California Distinguished School! As a high school Principal, Talin loves having a bird’s eye view of everything it takes to keep a school running, from intentional attendance team meetings to peer coaching meetings led by teachers to a robust after-school program. There are so many people who make ESAT  a safe, inclusive, and joyful space for its scholars and families.

Talin is also a proud Angeleno raised by her mom, who grew up in Anjar, Lebanon, and her dad, who grew up in Ras Al-Ayn, Syria. Growing up, she was reminded of the strength of her ancestors through hearing stories of family members who immigrated to the U.S., reading books written by survivors of the Armenian Genocide, and seeing the resilience of the Armenian diaspora in Los Angeles.

Thank you, Talin, for sharing your story with us. You can learn more about her in this podcast episode, which features her interview with an Alliance parent.
