Historic Milestone in Education Equity

Celebrating Black History Month.

Brave advocates helped win Brown v. Board of Education which ruled to end segregation in public schools. Brown v. Board of Education overturned Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), which allowed state-sponsored segregation in public education. Handed down on May 17, 1954, the Warren Court’s unanimous (9–0) decision stated that “separate educational facilities are inherently unequal.” This ruling paved the way for integration and was a major victory of the Civil Rights Movement.

At Alliance we will continue to work towards education equity for all students. With a 95% graduation rate our parents and staff are working tirelessly for our students.

Congress Must Pass A Clean Dream Act Now

CONGRESS MUST PASS A CLEAN DREAM ACT NOW AND PROTECT OUR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS, HIGH-PERFORMING SCHOOLS SAY

December 13, 2017 (LOS ANGELES) – Alliance College-Ready Public schools, the largest network of high-performing public charter schools in Los Angeles,  called on Congress to renew the DREAM Act by an amendment in the federal budget before the end of this month. This amendment will allow hundreds of thousands of people brought to this country as young children to stay here legally. Many recipients of the status brought by this program, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), are members of the Alliance community both as students and as teachers.
