Jeff Astor - Chemistry Teacher

Alliance Cindy and Bill Simon Technology High School
Ever the passionate champion for his students, Jeff is also a leader among his peers both in the Alliance and across the nation. He was named the first Alliance Master BLASTer to provide support to his fellow Alliance teachers in the effective use of instructional technology. He has also been recognized as one of eleven highly effective blended learning teachers in the nation by and his lessons are online as a resource for teachers across the country.




Joan Wicks - English and Historical Literacy Teacher

Joan is the first in her family to graduate from college. She is part of what she describes as a prolific clan of former slaves and sharecroppers, with no fewer than 600 people whom she calls "cousin."  



Jill D'Andrea - Biology Teacher 
Alliance Patti & Peter Neuwirth Leadership Academy

Jill has worked at Alliance Neuwirth Academy since it's opening in 2007. She believes that all students can be inspired to learn and that all students are capable of greatness, as long as they are motivated in a safe and positive atmosphere.

He has been described as the kind of teacher who changes life trajectories.
