Alliance Margaret M. Bloomfield High School is located in Huntington Park, southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The area is primarily home to Mexican-American families, many of whom are recent immigrants to the United States. All the scholars are known personally to staff members and the school has a family-oriented environment.
Points of Pride
Each scholar has the use of a tablet to keep up with the 21st-century world. Extracurricular activities offered include music, art, cooking, college courses, computer labs, cheer and Junior State of America, an organization that builds leadership and civic engagement through volunteer work and activism. They partner with: East Los Angeles College so scholars can earn college credit in high school, Step Up, a program geared to inspire confidence in girls, YBA, an organization that brings career skills into the classroom by leveraging businesses in the community, Mathematics Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) an academic preparation program for scholars.

Alliance Bloomfield High achieved a CAASPP score of 79 in ELA and 37 in Math and continues to raise the bar and outperform neighboring schools.
Ms. Meymarian began her experience in education as an instructional aid for The Glendale Unified School District. After attaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge, and counseling at-risk teenagers, Ms. Meymarian taught English as a foreign language in both Greece and The Czech Republic. In 2007, she earned her Single Subject Teaching Credential in English with a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. Concurrently, she became the founding English teacher of Alliance Dr. Olga Mohan High School. Eager to combine her counseling background with her classroom experience, Ms. Meymarian pursued an Administrative Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University to get into school administration. In 2010, she became assistant principal of Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School where she served the scholars and families of Huntington Park for four years. Dedicated to the scholars of that community, in 2014, Ms. Meymarian became the founding principal of Alliance Margaret M. Bloomfield High School. Ms. Meymarian strives for academic excellence, data-driven school culture, and high parent involvement.
