Alliance Kory Hunter Middle School utilizes the Blended Learning for Alliance School Transformation (BLAST) education model, which provides each student with a laptop and uses a wide variety of technological tools to prepare them for success in college and future careers.  


Alliance Kory Hunter Middle School is located in South Los Angeles, on the border of Huntington Park. The area is primarily home to Mexican-American families, many of whom are recent immigrants to the United States.



98% Latino and 2% African American, 32% English Language Learner (ELL) students, 97% free or reduced meal program participants.

Principal Profile

Prior to joining Alliance in 2010 Omar Reyes worked for the Anaheim Union High School District for several years. Mr. Reyes was one of the founding teachers of Alliance Cindy & Bill Simon Technology Academy High School (Alliance Simon Tech) and later became the assistant principal and athletic director. In 2015 he became principal of Alliance Kory Hunter . He received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and later received his teaching credential, administrative credential, and master’s degree in Educational Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
