Ana Menezes manages the instructional team, leads Alliance's academic strategy, and works cross-functionally across the organization to ensure that all Alliance students graduate ready for the rigors of college coursework and prepared to complete a four-year college degree.
Prior to joining Alliance, Ana led TNTP's (formerly the The New Teacher Project) academic strategy department. Under her leadership, TNTP developed their Core Teaching Rubric, a streamlined observation tool optimized for use in classrooms using the Common Core standards, and developed TNTP’s Common Core Quality Review, to support district and charter systems' implementation of the Common Core. Ana also led the design of TNTP's Fast Start teacher training model, an innovative approach to new teacher preparation.
Ana began her career in urban education as a Teach for America corps member and teacher in New York City.
