Pablo Cesar Villavicencio currently serves as our new Chief Schools Officer. Most recently, he was the Deputy Chief for Oakland Unified School District focused on Innovation and Principal Leadership Supervision. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Principal Leadership and Support for High Schools in San Francisco Unified School District. Before his return to the West Coast, he served communities in the Bronx, New York as a teacher, Academic Dean, and the Founding Principal of a NYCDOE district school designed to serve at-risk immigrant youth.
Pablo holds a B.A. in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies from University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S.Ed. in Dual Language/Bilingual General Childhood Education from The Bank Street College of Education. He is both a Teach for America and New Leaders Alum. Most importantly, he is the proud son of Ecuadorian immigrants and was raised in East Los Angeles where he attended LAUSD schools.
