Alan Arkatov

Mr. Arkatov is the Founding Director of USC's Center EDGE (Engagement Driven Global Education), and the Katzman/Ernst Chair for Educational Entrepreneurship, Technology and Innovation at USC's Rossier School of Education--an appointment with an interdisciplinary emphasis, leveraging the work at USC's Schools of Communications, Cinematic Arts, Medicine, Public Policy, and Business.


He previously was the President of, CEO of the Teaching Channel, part of the founding team and EVP for 2U, President of eEducation Group, and the founder and Chairman of Alan has guided some of the preeminent communications companies in the US, and as a political media consultant, helped produce the ads for over a dozen successful Mayoral, Gubernatorial, US Senate, and Presidential campaigns.


In addition to serving on California's State Board of Education, Mr. Arkatov was the Chair of California's Post-Secondary Education Commission, a US Secretary of Education appointee to the Congressional Web-Based Education Commission, President of the LA Commission for Children, Youth and Families, and Chair of the LA Information Technology Agency.


In addition to serving on the Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Board, Mr. Arkatov currently serves on the boards of Road Trip Nation, the LA Chamber Orchestra, and Catapult Learning. A happily retired concert violinist and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Alan resides in Los Angeles with his wife, their Labradoodle, and their two college-going sons.
