Description

Designed to prepare students to succeed in high school and continue on a path toward college, the school's educational model focuses on five core values: high expectations for all students; small, personalized schools and classrooms; increased instructional time; highly qualified principals and teachers; and parents as partners.

Community

Alliance College-Ready Middle Academy #7 is temporarily sharing space with Alliance College-Ready Academy High School #7 in the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles. The area includes mostly non-charter public schools such as Horace Mann Middle School.

Demographics and Average Daily Attendance

64% Hispanic, 34% African American, 22% English Language Learner (ELL) students, and 98% free or Reduced meal program participants. To date, average daily attendance is 96%.

Principal Profile

Principal Luis H. Ramirez has been an educator for more than 20 years, working as a classroom teacher, high school counselor and school administrator, at both the elementary and middle school level. A fluent Spanish speaker and specialist in dual-language immersion, Mr. Ramirez spent 15 years in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District before joining the Alliance. He holds a B.A. and Master's degree from Cal State University, Northridge.
