Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools
| Message from Judy I. Burton, President/CEO | ||||
They began as the first ninth graders starting high school on the first campus of the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools in August 2004. 140 students from urban, underserved neighborhoods betting on the promise that they would graduate from high school prepared for and admitted to college. That pledge became reality on June 27th when the proud members of the Class of 2008 marched into Hollywood's Kodak Theatre as the inaugural graduates of Gertz-Ressler High School. Promise fulfilled! | |||||
Congratulations to the Merkin Trailblazers
"You and your families have every reason to be proud. You did it!" said Alliance Board Chair Mayor Richard Riordan to the 121 eighth graders of Richard Merkin Middle School at its first-ever graduation ceremony. Hundreds of parents, friends, and fans of Merkin's Class of 2008 cheered as diplomas were presented to the students by Principal Donna Jacobson. |
