Bravo!
For Keairra Moore, CRAHS #4 tenth grader, summer school has a brand new meaning.
Keairra will spend three weeks in France as a Student Ambassador for People to People, a 50-year-old organization designed to build global understanding. “We live with French families, spend time in Paris, tour other parts of the country, and meet a diverse group of peers. I am so honored to be selected,” she says. Forty students from across Los Angeles were chosen as Ambassadors.
Keairra, who was nominated by a teacher at CRAHS #4, was chosen in the citywide competition based on grades, activities, and personal interviews. Her mother believes Keairra was selected because of qualities she has acquired at the Alliance school. “She’s gained a lot of self-confidence,” Tini Oliver says. “She cares about learning and about other people in new ways. I thank her teachers for that.” Keairra, her friends and family are busy with fundraisers to gather the $6,000 needed for the trip. She’s also practicing French phrases. Bon Voyage!
