Continuing to Strive for Excellence

A message from
Judy I. Burton, President and CEO

I am honored to welcome two new Alliance Board members:  Fred Wehba, Chairman of BentleyForbes, one of the nation's fastest-growing commercial real estate investment firms, and Brad Brian, a partner in the Los Angeles firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, who is recognized as one of the premier trial attorneys in the country.  Both are committed philanthropists who have been long engaged in strengthening the Los Angeles community.  We are privileged to have them join the Alliance family.

Along with excellence from our Board leaders, helping us to be the best that we can be is Cambridge Education, an external partner funded by NewSchools Venture Fund.  Over the course of several weeks, they will be taking an in-depth look at the Alliance home office and each of our schools to help determine strengths, challenges and areas for development. We are excited to participate for a second year in the comprehensive review program conducted by Cambridge Education that leads to new initiatives and “Charter Quality Certification” for eligible schools.

Every day, students in each of the Alliance’s ten schools are asked to commit themselves fully to reaching and exceeding the high goals that have been set by and for them.  We know that giving our students the quality education they deserve requires the Alliance organization and our school administrators and faculties to do the same.
