Rolling Technology
The computer lab is traditional. The laptop cart is cutting-edge as technology rolls to the Alliance students wherever and whenever they need access.

At Gertz-Ressler Academy High School and Heritage College-Ready Academy High School, mobile carts, each containing thirty laptop computers, are easily accessible for student and classroom use. The traveling instructional tools give teachers the potential to design 21st century lessons and provide students with programs and Internet research at their desks.
In addition to the laptops, the cart also brings a printer, an LCD projector, speakers, and a charger to the learning location. The mobile technology facilitates “virtual” advanced courses such as honors and AP classes or online tutoring.
The laptop for the Heritage campus was contributed by the Lauren Leichtman and Arthur Levine Family Foundation. Mr. Levine is a member of the Alliance Board of Directors.
Computers are as important as pens as tools for learning, says Gertz-Ressler Principal Howard Lappin. “That’s why I don’t believe in computer labs; computers must be in the classrooms where the instruction is. The cart does exactly that.”
