Strengthening Alliance Teacher Recruitment
Continuing its commitment to direct funds to classrooms not administration, The Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools has partnered with The New Teacher Project to recruit highly qualified teachers for its schools in the coming year. “It’s an experienced human resources team of 100 without adding one person to the Alliance staff,” explains Parker Hudnut, COO for the Alliance.

The New Teacher Project (TNTP) is a non-profit organization that has almost a decade of teacher recruitment experience from Houston to New York. Its partnership with the Alliance is its first in California. TNTP has recruited nearly 20,000 high quality teachers in 22 states. “They will look for good teachers for our classrooms of greatest need,” explains Mr. Hudnut. “We provide a list of what we need – for example, more math and science teachers – and by March, they will provide a prescreened list to our principals who make the final hiring decisions.” The TNTP partners search for candidates in business and non-traditional positions, those who can bring world experience to teaching.
