Message from Judy I. Burton
President and CEO

Making our Strong Leadership Team Even Stronger

We are honored to welcome three new members to the Alliance Board of Directors. Jeffrey Glassman, John Morrisey, and Eva Stern bring unique strengths to our team and will be great assets in our mission to give every student the opportunity to graduate from high school prepared for success in college.

Mr. Glassman is the Managing Director of Bingham Legg Advisors LLC – Los Angeles. Prior to that, he was a Vice President of Bel Air Investment Advisors. He has practiced law for 30 years specializing in estate planning, probate and trust administration.  His service to the community is strong, too. Jeffrey Glassman has served on the boards of the Wallis Foundation, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Loyola Marymount University, and the LA Police Foundation to name only a few.

The vast national corporate networks of J.F. Shea Company, Inc. and Shea Ventures LLC is the professional home for new Alliance Board member John Morrissey.  He serves as Managing Director of Shea Ventures and Executive Vice President of J.F. Shea, the largest private homebuilder in the U.S., and its operating businesses.  He graduated from Yale University, also earned a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University, and a law degree from the University of Chicago.

Eva Stern is a clinical social worker and educator who brings experience in engaging students, teachers, and the community in educational reform. She is the Chair of InsideOUT Writers, a creative writing program for at risk and incarcerated youth and also leads Parents Who Care, a community-based drug education organization.   The Marc and Eva Stern Foundation supports a wide range of arts and education programs.

Please join me in thanking them in advance for the energy, commitment, and creative ideas that I know they will bring to Alliance schools.

Sincerely,

Judy Burton
