Best Wishes to Frank Baxter
The evening was “Una Noche Romantica,” as its guest of honor had requested. The occasion was a celebration of and for Frank E. Baxter, held on his 70th birthday, just before he began his service as the United States Ambassador to Uruguay.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Governor Gray Davis were among more than 400 friends, family, and professional colleagues who shared farewells, birthday wishes, and accolades for the man who was the founding Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools. Appropriately, the party was held at the Frank Baxter Education Complex, permanent home for two Alliance schools. The campus gymnasium was decorated like a prom, and guests enjoyed Uruguayan food and music.
More than $90,000 was donated to the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools in honor of Ambassador Baxter’s birthday.
