Alliance Applications Soar for Next School Year
A dynamic reputation and enthusiastic word-of-mouth generated an avalanche of applications for Alliance schools for the 2007-08 year. More than 2000 students have been enrolled to start school on Tuesday, September 4th. The seven campuses currently in operation have filled their class quotas; all have waiting lists.

Huntington Park holds lottery for enrollment applications.
More than 3000 students applied for admission to College-Ready schools. Huntington Park College-Ready Academy High School and Merkin Middle School held lotteries to handle the sought-after admissions. “We are only three years old, yet our message has found an enthusiastic audience,” says Judy Burton, CEO of the Alliance. Current parents and students were the best ambassadors. “Some would take home several applications to pass out to friends and neighbors,” said Mary Louise Silva, Director of Parent Community Outreach. “Our safe schools, individual attention, and rigorous academics for all students are very appealing to families in our communities.”
