New Chief Academic Officer

linzeyHe describes his passion for education this way:
“to prepare students to become first class citizens with a world class education,"  David  Linzey says. He brings that passion to the Alliance as its first CAO. It’s the next step in a career marked by leading average secondary schools to high academic accomplishments.

David  Linzey has worked with students and families in Southern California for 25 years as an educator, counselor, and school administrator.  He comes to the Alliance from Huntington Beach High School where he served as principal for three years.  He was drawn to the Alliance because he believes in the combination of “quality academics and relationships to create successful students,” he says. “Charter schools provide the freedom and learning environment to do what is necessary to achieve that goal.”

Innovative student intervention and counseling programs have gained Mr. Linzey an international reputation.  He assisted in developing the “Choices”  program for at-risk youth while a counselor at Rancho Middle School in Cucamonga.  His “TLC”  program in Murrieta was funded by Target Stores. Both brought teachers and students together in mentoring situations that emphasized relationships first and then extended to academics. In each, the grades and attendance for every student participant increased dramatically.  At the Diamond Ranch HS, the API soared 140 points, the graduation rate was 99%, and it earned  a rare six-year “clear” accreditation.

After he graduated from Vanguard University, he earned a Masters from Pepperdine. He and his wife, also a teacher, counselor, and school psychologist, have a teenage son Blake, who has been a nationally ranked tennis player who regularly beats his dad on the court.
