Teaching at Alliance

Alliance Schools are a great place for educators who want to perfect their craft with other high-performers while independently designing and carrying out classroom programs to best support their students. Alliance's founding principal of school autonomy helped build our culture of innovation and an important reason for Alliance's leadership in personalized learning.

We offer competitive teacher and counselor/social worker salaries with recognition of performance as well as benefits including dental, vision, paid time off and participation in California's State Teacher Requirement System (STRS). Equal Employment Opportunity Policy.

Unique benefits of teaching at Alliance also include:

Change at Scale
Serving 12,500 families in LA's most under-served communities, we are closing the achievement gap at scale.  Students come to Alliance on average 4 grade levels behind, yet 91% of our students graduate and 95% of Alliance graduates are accepted to college. With our Alliance Mentorship Program, we are also supporting our students beyond graduation to support their success through college and beyond.

Collaborative Community
Join Alliance to innovate with over 1,100 talented teachers, school leaders, and support staff who are all committed to transforming the lives of our students. Alliance teachers have access to a wide network and a wealth of best practice resources based on our experience of 12 years innovating in education.

Culture of Innovation
School leaders and teachers enjoy the autonomy to design and carry out innovative programs to best support their students. Draw on state-of-the-art instructional strategies and technologies to drive student learning and college success. Our one-to-one personalized learning model allows teachers more time to tailor instruction to specific student needs.

Career Opportunities
As the largest charter school network in Los Angeles, Alliance offers diverse career opportunities and educator pathways, including innovative paid opportunities such as coaching and blended learning leadership roles. Alliance coaches (both centrally and at the school level), Alliance-wide trainings, and weekly professional development sessions at schools all support teachers towards a common vision for excellent instruction.
